Calling all Big Island musicians, dancers and music lovers!

The first annual event in memory of Hilo master bassist, John Parker, is Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Hilo Elks Lodge, 150 Kinoole St. Admission Is $5 at the door.

Musicians and vocalists of all styles, bring your instrument and come in good voice. Bring a couple charts and four copies of each for the house rhythm section of Gary Washburn and Alex Evans on piano, Loren Antolin on bass and Bruce David on drums.

Those who prefer a performance with or without the rhythm section, please sign up for a time slot with Bruce David at 333-4981 or Lou Ann Gurney at 982-6012. Dancers of all styles please join us and contact Lou Ann or Bruce to arrange a special song for a dance number. Those who simply would like to come and listen, we need you too. Please join us for this fun community gathering. Bring your favorite dish for sharing. Make sure to wish John’s wife, Judy, “Happy Trails,” as she is moving to upstate New York and we will miss her.
